Claire Butler, PhD
1. What lab are you in?
Kim Green Lab
2. Can you share a memorable experience or accomplishment in your role that has been particularly rewarding for you?
Working alongside REMIND, CNLM and Queer, Trans and Allies in Biological Sciences (QTABS) has been rewarding in many different ways. Being able to participate in outreach events for younger students as well being able to provide an inclusive environment for everyone at UC Irvine has been particularly fulfilling.
3. Are there specific women in the field of biological sciences who have inspired or influenced your career?
Professor Jenny Pocock (University College London, UCL) was a great external mentor for me during my PhD. During my post-doctoral training, all of the women in my lab, undergraduates, graduates students and project scientists inspire me everyday and make working on the lab so rewarding.
